  Elders Advice Backfired And Now Im The Happiest I've Ever Been

  just wanted to update you guys of the amazing couple of weeks i've had in recovering from the cult.. i was attending the meetings still just so i could see my daughter in the kingdom hall and have her sit we me half the time.

  i had no intention of ever becoming a jw again but was hoping to be re-instated and just not turn up ever again so i could at least see my family.

  but then an elder said something to me that changed all that.

  Exactly what Heaven said above. I never once said a negative thing about my children's father in front of or to them. In time they made their own decision. My daughter is getting married in October, although her father will be attending she stated mom you raised me YOU will walk me down the aisle.

  Kids know very early what is going on, what is right, what is wrong they do not need to be told. They can sense right from wrong. If you are happy they can sense that also. Try always to be positive when you are with your daughter.

  Explaining JW Beleifs To Non JW's

  my new girlfriend asked me over dinner last night what jw's believe.

  as i sat there explaining it i realized how ridiculous it sounds and was slightly embarrassed that i used to believe this crap for 31 years.. try and read this and imagine hearing it for the first time.... me: well... jw believe that god's name is jehovah and that his son is jesus christ.

  they believe that jesus died on a stake and not a cross and that in the year 1914 he personally chosen the jw's as his one true religion.

  Never a JW here. Well Pale.emperer you can now imagine how I felt when I started researching the JW beliefs since the "Elder" I dated for 5 years only told me we do not believe in the cross and do not celebrate holidays. I asked a question about his beliefs and got a "good bye have a nice life" email.

  What a messed up religion, you are in a good place now. Enjoy the rest of your life. You are FREE. Show them how great life can be on the outside looking in. Protect your little precious one as much as possible from the cult.

  my witness self :-very hollow, slightly lofty, characteristically judgemental, overwhelmingly convincing.. my non-witness self:- and in my imperfect way no longer taking the passive attitude to reality, and most importantly no longer feeling an outsider with my " true" friends..

  Never a JW so I really cannot answer your thread but you said:

  Never a truer statement said, my mother without the alcohol was one of the top florist designers in Washington DC written up in all the magazines. She was sweet and kind to everyone in the community if it meant promoting her career but the minute she walked in the house she started drinking and became the most evil person on the face of the earth. She also knew every gay power house manager in town all the 5 star hotel managers, largest jewelry store owners or managers, top hair stylist and the list goes on. Every night they would put away some serious amount of alcohol. Before I was 16 LOL I am sure I could have qualified for bartender job because there was very few drinks I did not know how to make.

  Also, the probation officer would stop them from getting a laptop or smart phone with Internet connection.

  do any of you know anything about prescription medications and their reactions?

  the doctors cannot explain why but i react to everything they prescribe to the point that now all my doctors are attempting neutral remedies before medication.

  tomorrow i am having surgery to drill a hole in my head to put in a titanium rod and we are doing local instead of general simply because it lessens the amount of needed drugs.

  Nellis,

  I looked at your math problem that was elementary math in our book. This is where my daughter would get very frustrated with us we would walk by glance at the paper say 4. How did you get that? Don't know. No clue. Teacher says need to show work. Call someone else.

  My daughter turned 25 this past weekend and we discussed this exact topic. She said do you know how frustrating it was growing up with the two of you and trying to understand math. I just laughed and said I am sure we were not much help.

  First, lol I am female. And the reason we cannot explain how to solve the problem is we really do not understand how we get the answers. The answer we get is 100% correct every time but it is not by any taught formulas. When both of us were in school math was boring. When worksheets were handed out we had them completed before the teacher finished handing them out to the class. That is because we knew this stuff at least 2 or 3 years before. My son was in a private school and they allowed him to work at his own pace one year. He did 3 math classes in 9 months.

  IslandMan,

  The doctors are at the point that if it is not natural I will have some type of reaction. Just very frustrating.

  I wish for some type of test to determine if something is missing in my body that can be corrected so that I can successfully take medicine without all these side effects.

  The titanium rod is the transmitter for the hearing device.

  Mathematics for some reason I do not know why but my son and I were given brains that are naturally wired for mathematics. Neither of us learned math in school for some reason we just knew it. Here is a couple of examples. My son at 3 no exposure started running around the house yelling out 2+2=4, 3+3=6 and so on. I questioned the school he attended and the said no. He was attending a bilingual school so by the time he was in 4th grade he was becoming a handful. The French teacher said I know he gets every word I say but I cannot figure out how he gets it because he never seems to be paying attention. French was definitely a third language for him and not spoken in the home. We took him to a testing center during the middle of the test, the lady called me and said I just read this little boy a calculas problem and without paper and pencil he gave her the answer. If I do not have one of my headaches I can take a grocery receipt and add it up very quickly in my head. When my daughter came along she is six years younger then her brother she did not get this gift. We had to hire a tutor for math because my son and I have no absolute clue how to get the answer to a math problem by solving it we just know what the answer is.

  Yes, recently they thought just maybe it was auto-immune so the vampires took 7 vials of blood just to tell me you are very healthy.
